There is no cooler car than the Chevy Corvette and that has been a fact for decades. When you combine the coolness factor of the Corvette with Chevy’s philanthropy, you get an impressive vehicle to help those in need. On April 9, at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction, the 2023 Corvette Z06 raised 1 million dollars for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
“The 2022 Palm Beach Auction is a community event that we are very proud to be associated with,” said Dr. Harry L. Williams, president & CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. “Through the generous support of GM, Chevrolet and Barrett-Jackson, we raised a significant amount of funds and awareness of our TQRP initiative, which provides opportunities for students of color in the K-12 educational environment and beyond.”
In January, a first retail production of a 70th Anniversary Edition 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 garnered a hefty sales price at auction, as well. Between the two Corvette models, the total in charitable donations in 2022, is approximately $4.6 million.

2022 isn’t even here yet, but Chevrolet is already looking forward to the 2023 model year. We’ll let it slide because we’re as excited as the bowtie brand is for the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
This new Corvette has an all-new engine under the hood, the 5.5-liter LT6 DOHC V8. It’s the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine on the market, slated to achieve 670 horsepower at 8,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque.
All of this power comes from the racetrack engineering embedded in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06’s very bones. Besides the new engine, the front and rear facia has a wider look to resemble other track-ready supercars. This Corvette will also follow the mid-engine design launched two years ago for increased stability and handling wherever you drive it. The Z06 borrows popular features from the Corvette Stingray, like advanced driver technologies, to create the ultimate ride.
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is made to be customized. In the 2023 model year, you’ll be able to upgrade with a Z07 Performance Package for even more track-tuned performance.
Like the other famed Corvettes before it, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be built in Kentucky, home of America’s fastest thoroughbreds. While we’re talking about it now, the car isn’t slated for production until summer 2022.

Safety is a top concern for Chevrolet and it shows in the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse. When equipped with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights, the midsize SUV earns a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“Safety for our customers through each of our brands has always been paramount to our operations,” said John Capp, director of Global Safety Technology, Strategy and Regulations at GM.
The well-equipped 2021 Traverse earned the rating from the IIHS after it scored “Good” in the agency’s crashworthiness tests, the highest mark available. The six crashworthiness tests are small overlap front: driver side, small overlap front: passenger-side, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats. The IIHS also rated the available front crash prevention, vehicle-to-vehicle tech in the 2021 Traverse as “Superior.”
Standard safety tech on the 2021 Traverse, which is available with FWD or AWD, includes a rear vision camera, an airbag system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Teen Driver technology is also standard, allowing you to monitor the driving habits of your inexperienced driver as well as set limits on vehicle features including speed and audio volume.
The IIHS isn’t the only prominent safety group to rate the Traverse highly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has given the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse a five-star overall safety rating.
This fall, Chevrolet steps up its truck game yet again with the new and improved 2022 Silverado 1500. Likely debuting in September, the latest Silverado pickup boasts a host of impressive improvements — including cutting-edge technology and an exciting new trim.

New Super Cruise™ also offers features like automatic lane change and an enhanced navigation display.
2022 also finally marks the debut of the Silverado ZR2. The popular trim, which has been part of the Colorado lineup since 2017, will make the latest Silverado even more off-road-capable than ever. Expect similar upgrades to the Colorado ZR2, including a Multimatic DSSV™ Damping System and a unique ZR2 off-road-tuned suspension.
On top of all this, the new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will sport a bold new look inside and out. Expected improvements include a larger touch-screen display, more interior refinement, and a more aggressive face.
