The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awards safety ratings to vehicles every year, and the 2020 Cadillac XT6 has been singled out for a Top Safety Pick + Rating. This recognition means the XT6 has been through many safety tests and collected high marks, making it one of the safest vehicles around.
A Battery Of Tests
Many tests are done by the IIHS to determine how a vehicle will endure a crash. Checks on driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, as well as roof strength, moderate overlap front, head restraint, and side crash tests were some of the many tests performed. IIHS also looks at the driver assistance features offered by the various automakers, and Cadillac earned a Superior Rating in this category. It’s particularly impressive since the 2020 model year of vehicles were the first to have their driver-safety technology evaluated by the institute.
Protecting What Matters Most
The rigorous IIHS tests prove that the 2020 Cadillac XT6 is one of the best choices for a family vehicle. The XT6 is one of the only luxury SUVs to receive the honor, and as a Cadillac owner, you can rest easy knowing that you’re driving one of the safest midsize SUVs available.

The automotive search engine and research website iSeeCars.com recently conducted a survey to determine which makes of automobiles are on the road the longest. GMC came in as one of the longest-lasting brands available.
The study looked at the percentage of vehicles by particular automakers that reached 200,000 miles or more and included nearly 16 million cars, trucks and SUVs. Vehicles made by GMC ranked third among the major automakers. As a matter of fact, the GMC Yukon XL got especially high marks. The Yukon is likely to surpass 200,000 miles, and even last up to 300,000 in some cases.
The GMC Yukon seats seven passengers very comfortably with 34.5 inches of legroom in the third row of seating. The cargo space is an ample 39.3 cubic feet and offers a powerful 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine. Not only will your Yukon last for years, it can stand up to whatever you want it to do.
GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Canyon
As far as long-lasting trucks, the GMC Sierra and Canyon ranked well among light-duty trucks. The Sierra comes in five different trim levels and is available with a V8 or a turbo diesel engine. Among small pickups, the Canyon is rated at 30 mpg, making it one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles in its class.
