Car and Driver Names Corvette to 2022 10Best List

2022 Chevrolet Corvette | Greer, SC

The industry experts at Car and Driver recently named the Chevrolet Corvette to the prestigious 10Best List for 2022. The judges praised the Corvette’s supercar performance, exotic styling, and surprisingly affordable price tag.

Perfect for Weekend Fun

The publication noted that the Corvette was the fastest model on the test track, outpacing rivals like the Porsche Boxster and Cayman. But its top-of-the-line driving experience goes beyond its styling and engineering. The Corvette lets you put your own spin on its breathtaking design by letting you choose from a variety of interior color schemes, seatbelt color options, and even the color of its brake calipers. And on top of all that, it’s got a trunk that’s spacious enough for two golf bags!

Engine

The C8 Corvette is powered by your choice of a 490- or 495-horsepower V8 that’s paired with launch-control capabilities, courtesy of its innovative dual-clutch automatic transmission. Thanks to this dynamic duo, this mid-engine marvel can rocket from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. Plus, it’s available as both a hardtop and convertible, so you can opt to feel the wind in your hair.

As of this year, the Corvette has earned a spot on Car and Driver’s 10Best List a whopping 23 times. Come see why this supercar continues to wow critics — contact us at Bradshaw Automotive in Greer, South Carolina to learn more about this stunning all-American masterpiece.

Check Out the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Greer, SC

2022 isn’t even here yet, but Chevrolet is already looking forward to the 2023 model year. We’ll let it slide because we’re as excited as the bowtie brand is for the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

All-New Engine

This new Corvette has an all-new engine under the hood, the 5.5-liter LT6 DOHC V8. It’s the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine on the market, slated to achieve 670 horsepower at 8,600 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque.

All of this power comes from the racetrack engineering embedded in the Chevrolet Corvette Z06’s very bones. Besides the new engine, the front and rear facia has a wider look to resemble other track-ready supercars. This Corvette will also follow the mid-engine design launched two years ago for increased stability and handling wherever you drive it. The Z06 borrows popular features from the Corvette Stingray, like advanced driver technologies, to create the ultimate ride.

Customization

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is made to be customized. In the 2023 model year, you’ll be able to upgrade with a Z07 Performance Package for even more track-tuned performance.

Like the other famed Corvettes before it, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be built in Kentucky, home of America’s fastest thoroughbreds. While we’re talking about it now, the car isn’t slated for production until summer 2022.

2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray Named MotorTrend Car of the Year

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Greer, SC

The 2020 model year marks a momentous occasion for the Chevy Corvette line — for the first time, the Corvette Stingray is being built as a mid-engine production model, making it the fastest and most potent entry-level Corvette since the sports car launched over 65 years ago.

To add to the celebration, the new Corvette Stingray was recently named the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year.

“It’s an honor for the Corvette team to receive this coveted award from MotorTrend against the best the industry has to offer,” commented Tadge Juechter, the Corvette executive chief engineer. “Our design and engineering teams spent several years sweating the details to deliver the first mid-engine Corvette. To have a third party validate our hard work makes it all worthwhile.”

The new impressive Chevy Corvette Stingray can sprint from 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds when equipped with the Z51 Performance Package. Its 6.2-liter Small Block V8 LT2 engine unleashes 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Ready to drive home in your own 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray from Bradshaw Automotive? You’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Production is slated to begin in February 2020 at the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky.

Showcasing Chevy’s MLB Sponsorship with the Comerica Chevrolet Fountain

Silverado Midnight Edition

Chevy is celebrating its sponsorship of the MLB by putting a Corvette and Silverado right behind center field at Comerica Park in Detroit. Tigers fans were thrilled to see the redesigned Comerica Chevrolet Fountain, which puts two of Chevy’s favorites on display for an entire season. After hours of hoisting the cars in place with a special crane, they’ll now be visible for more than 3 million expected visitors.

According to Chevy, the Corvette Z06 and Midnight Edition Silverado were specially chosen to represent the brand this year. Both represent Chevy’s commitment to quality, highlighting rugged capability and high-octane performance.

Corvette Z06

“As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball, what better way could Chevrolet show our love of the game than by giving our vehicles a bird’s eye view of our hometown team?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. He goes on to say that, “We like to think of these vehicles as the Chevrolet cheering section to drive those centerfield home runs.”

The fountain also has a host of water displays and sound effects for any time a player from the home team hits a homerun. We at Bradshaw Chevrolet just hope they don’t put any dents in the two display models.

2015 Corvette Stingray Named First-Ever Business Insider Car of the Year

With 2014 all sewn up and in the books, 2015 kicks off with the usual glut of best-of lists and year-end awards. Business Insider is getting in on the automotive action by naming its first Car of the Year, and it shouldn’t come as too terrible a surprise that the winner is the 2015 Corvette Stingray.

So what led to the 2015 Stingray being named the first-ever Business Insider Car of the Year? As could be expected, it’s the Corvette’s harmonious balance between form and function.

Of the inside, editors Matthew Debord and Benjamin Zhang say the following:

“The interior is modern, fairly luxurious, and yet purposeful. You feel the lure of the racetrack in this Vette in the same way that you do in a Ferrari 458, but at a much, much lower price. Soft, high-quality leather blends with LCD instruments and controls. Heck, there’s even 4G LTE connectivity embedded in the car. What was once seen by many as the dinosaur of the sports car world is now a rolling, wireless hotspot that can do 0-60 mph in less than four seconds. Amazing.”

Adding to that the exterior’s sharp styling that combines the best of what made the old Stingrays so fetching with so much of what will make Chevrolet’s lineup so irresistible in the future, and of course the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that only cranks out 460 horsepower and produces a 180 mph top speed, and the 2015 Corvette Stingray is about as close to a sure thing as you’re ever going to fine.

The first-ever Business Insider Car of the Year is in stock now at Bradshaw Chevrolet, so kick off your year on the right foot by putting it to the pedal and pushing that pedal to the metal!

Corvette Stingray Performance Data Recorder Catches Valet in the Act

When you’re a valet, it’s assumed that you’ll sometimes get to park awesome vehicles like the Corvette Stingray. But it’s also assumed that you will take good care of these cars while they are in your hands. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, as a recent video posted by one Stingray driver on YouTube reveals.

What this valet wasn’t counting on was the Corvette Stingray Performance Data Recorder (PDR). This neat device comprises a high-definition camera and a telemetry recorder, allowing it to log data about your speed, braking force, steering wheel angle, transmission-gear selection, and more. Unfortunately for the valet, the Stingray’s PDR recorded his journey from the entrance to the Segerstorm Center for the Arts in Orange County, California, into the garage where he took the car for a bit of a joyride before eventually parking it.

In the video, we see the valet driving normally, when he comes across an empty strip of garage. He stops, then accelerates quickly down the strip, braking and turning the corner before parking it. His speed reaches 50 mph in this short period, and although he is perfectly in control of the car, it’s not his car to race around garages.

Yes, we started producing customer cars yesterday,” Chevy spokesman Monte Doran said in a discussion with Autoblog. “We are not shipping cars to customers yet, though. We’re still doing final quality checks and audits and will begin shipping cars in the coming weeks.” So we might still have a while to wait, but it’s encouraging news, nonetheless.

The 2014 Corvette won an award as the North American Car of the Year, and we’re hoping that the 2015 Z06 takes home the same award this year, giving the brand back-to-back victories at the prestigious North American International Auto Show.
