A Few Great Camping Spots In Upstate South Carolina

hiking in the mountains - camping spots in upstate South Carolina

The camping spots in upstate South Carolina are numerous and choice. There are opportunities for fishing, swimming, hiking and just plain soaking up some of the most beautiful landscapes this fair land has to offer. We here at Bradshaw Automotive have thrown together a few of our favorites for you just as summer approaches.

Devil’s Fork State Park – Salem

The campgrounds at Devil’s Fork State Park are situated on the banks of the pretty and placid Lake Jocassee. Anglers will find the spot to their liking as the lake features both trophy trout and smallmouth bass. Kayak rentals are available and make for a wonderful way to get around the lake. Camping facilities feature restrooms with hot showers in case you decide to stay for a few more days.

King Mountain Park – Blacksburg, SC

A wonderful place to camp for both tent campers and RV owners, King Mountain Park features two beautiful lakes, tranquil thanks to motor restrictions. In fact, non-motorized boats are available for slow perusing of the calm waters and intense watching of bobbers.

Croft State Park – Spartanburg

Croft State Park is unique for a number of reasons. First of all, even casual birdwatchers will delight in knowing that all sorts of species can be spotted there, including different varieties of hawks, bald eagles, and wood ducks. Secondly, the park features a skeet shooting park just outside its gates!

2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Posts Impressive Time at Nürburgring

There appears to be a misconception that American muscle is dead, and that automakers in the States can’t keep up with foreign sports cars.  Well, the 2014 Camaro Z/28 put those ideas to rest as it posted a track time of 7:37.40 at Germany’s famed Nürburgring road course.

That notable mark is faster than the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 recently clocked in an impressive race time.

Murcielago LP640.  What makes that time even more impressive is the fact that the run was conducted on less than ideal track conditions, in which the course was damp and the run was concluded in a downpour.

“One of the challenges of testing at the ‘Ring is that the track is so long that conditions can change radically in a single lap,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer, in a press release. “Adam Dean, the development driver for Z/28, did a heroic job driving in deteriorating conditions. Based on telemetry data from our test sessions, we know the Z/28 can be as much as six seconds faster on a dry track.”

Adaptive Cruise Control Revolutionizes 2014 Chevy Impala

Cruise control has become more common than a preteen girl who likes Justin Bieber and is utilized in almost every car on the market. Since it’s introduction to the automotive world, cruise control has become more and more adaptive, gaining the ability to slow down and speed up in sync with another vehicle. While this innovation makes driving a long distance easier, the technology doesn’t slow down your car if the car in front of you stops suddenly.

Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Greer, SCChevrolet has decided to change this with the introduction of its ground-breaking Adaptive Cruise Control system, which will be implemented in the 2014 Chevy Impala. This new system will be able to stop your car completely when it senses a sudden stop from the car you’re following, therefore keeping you safer than ever before. The system will also be paired with a second system that is capable of stopping the car if a hazard suddenly appears in the roadway.

“Results indicated that brake-apply rates were 25 times lower under freeway conditions relative to manual driving,” said James Sayers, a research scientist with the Human Factors Group, in a statement. “These results suggest that Adaptive Cruise Control can substantially reduce the workload and stress associated with the everyday task of car following.”

A car that can greatly reduce its drivers’ stress? Consider us signed up! Come check out the 2014 Chevy Impala, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, here at Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac today!

Bradshaw Celebrates 25 Years with Buick

Last week, Bradshaw Buick GMC Cadillac was recognized for its 25-year anniversary as a Buick dealership. Buick representatives stopped by our dealership to commemorate the occasion and to present Wes Bradshaw with a memorial plaque.

Bradshaw Automotive Celebrates 25 Years with Buick

This 25-year anniversary is very exciting and flattering to Bradshaw Automotive, a dealership with a humble beginning and a hard-working mentality that ultimately led us to success.

Bradshaw Automotive was founded in 1979 in Greer, South Carolina by William Bradshaw, who purchased an Oldsmobile and Cadillac dealership with his wife, Annette. Initially putting their home and life’s savings on the line, the Bradshaws worked hard to develop the dealership, eventually adding a Buick store in 1987, with Chevrolet, Acura, Honda, GMC and more following soon after.

Today, Bradshaw Automotive has grown to employ over 300 people, quite an improvement over the mere 15 employees that worked at the dealership in 1979. Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac has earned numerous awards as one of the five dealerships that make up Bradshaw Automotive, including being named South Carolina Dealer of the Year by DealerRater for each of its four makes.

Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac is extremely honored to have spent 25 years as a dealer of new and used Buick vehicles.
