Chevrolet Red Line Concepts Debut Before SEMA

Chevrolet Family Line-Up

Chevrolet brought their series of Red Line concept cars to SEMA, but released images and details on the vehicles beforehand to build up excitement and anticipation for the lineup. The diverse concepts include the Trax, Malibu, Camaro, Colorado, and Silverado 1500, in addition to the upcoming Chevrolet Spark RS concept. The Chevrolet Red Line concepts debuted November 3rd at SEMA.

The Red Line series was designed to show off the customization and personalization capabilities of Chevrolet’s 2016 lineup, and the Red Line upgrades will be available for vehicles in that lineup. The Red Line series upgrades include a new Enhanced Silver Metallic color palette option, Charcoal roof panel, and accents in red and Satin Graphite. Most of the changes will be purely cosmetic, so while the price has not yet been announced, they are expected to be rather affordable.

The 2015 SEMA Motor Show takes place in Las Vegas from November 3rd through 6th, drawing a crowd of over 60,000. Chevy is using SEMA to gauge interest in the Chevrolet Red Line concepts, but are confident that Chevrolet Accessories will become a quality alternative to aftermarket parts when it comes to personalizing their vehicles.  Share with us your thoughts about Chevy’s line up for the SEMA show!

Transformers: Age of Extinction Stars Chevy Once More

Fans of Michael Bay’s Transformers are no strangers to Chevy-turned-Autobots, and the legend will live on in the fourth installment of the saga, Transformers: Age of Extinction, which hits theaters on June 27. The star Autobot, Bumblebee, will of course be back in its Camaro flesh, but we’ll also be seeing some other exciting Chevys join the cast.

A custom Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will be featured in Transformers: Age of Extinction this summer.

For starters, the multiple award-winning Corvette Stingray will be making an appearance, converting to Crosshairs. Along with the iconic Stingray, a Chevy Trax and a Sonic Rally Car will take to the big screen.

Chevy has been involved with the Transformers franchise since the beginning. The Camaro form of Bumblebee was featured in Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011). This next chapter features a modified vintage ’67 Camaro SS, as well as a futuristic imagining of the Camaro.

“The Transformers movies have been a great partnership for Chevrolet by allowing us to introduce our vehicles to new fans, young and old, around the world,” said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, Global Chevrolet. “Now for the fourth time, you’ll see a Camaro as a heroic Autobot, a fitting role for one of the stars of Chevrolet’s lineup.”

LeeAnne Stables, executive vice president of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships for Paramount Pictures, added, “The Chevrolet partnership with this iconic Michael Bay movie franchise has become one of the longest-running and most innovative movie-brand relationships in film history. This new Chevy campaign will definitely bring new and exciting elements to a global audience of Transformers movie fans around the world.”

In addition to providing the vehicles, General Motors also provided several filming locations, including the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant, the Milford Proving Ground, and the Warren Technical Center.
