Now that we’re in spring, Easter is just around the corner. As such, it’s time to start thinking about what you are going to do with the family this holiday season. To help you create a memorable holiday, we’ve put together a list of some of the most fun Easter holiday traditions.
What better way to start off the morning than with a basket hunt? While the kids are sleeping, put together a basket for them filled with candy, and then hide those baskets. Have them search for the baskets in the morning.
Once the kids have found their baskets, you can then put together a fun chocolate hunt. First, divide your home into separate spaces for each child. You can then hide chocolates around each space. The first kid to find all of their chocolate pieces is the winner!
Once you’ve done your small family traditions, you can then do a larger family or neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Set up different prizes for the winners to add motivation. You can even split everyone up into different age groups to have more winners.
Most importantly, enjoy the time with your family. All of us here at Bradshaw Automotive wish you a happy holiday!
As one of Chevrolet’s most stalwart vehicles, the Equinox remains one of the most-talked-about cars each and every year. With recent announcement of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, car lovers everywhere are starting to get excited. Here is everything that you need to know about the new Equinox.
With the 2018 version of the Equinox, Chevrolet seems to have listened to past remarks that the Equinox was a bit too big to appeal to drivers in its market. GM solved this problem by making the new Equinox just a tad bit smaller and more modern. The expectation is that this will put it in direct competition with the CR-V, Escape, and RAV4.
This year’s model now features a wheelbase that is 5.2 inches smaller, a length that has been cut down by 4.7 inches, and a curb weight has been reduced by around 400 pounds. While it is a much smaller and lighter vehicle, GM hasn’t sacrificed any quality in the process.
If you’re interested in learning more about how the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is going to shift the market for crossover SUVs, feel free to contact us at Bradshaw Automotive. We would love to hear from you!

Lake Conestee Nature Park always provides plenty of fun and educational programs for the whole family to enjoy as they learn about the flora and fauna native to the area. In honor of Valentine’s Day, Lake Conestee is holding a special event on Saturday, February 11th called “Nature’s Sweethearts.” The Nature’s Sweethearts event will teach attendees about the relationships between various organisms in the park.
The event begins at 3 PM and ends at 4:30 PM, costing $8 for one adult and one child, plus $5.50 for each additional child. This gives you and your family an hour and a half tour of the park in which you’ll learn about how the members of Lake Conestee’s ecosystem interact in order to sustain the environment and one another. This will be followed by a fun arts and crafts activity in which children will be allowed to create animal-themed Valentine’s based on the book My Heart is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall.
All ages are welcome at the Nature’s Sweetheart event, but it’s primarily aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 8. Lake Conestee will also be providing a campfire and warm beverages in order to keep everyone cozy during the cool February weather! The Lego Batman Movie is sure to be a great experience for all ages, but the last thing most people expected was for Chevrolet to team up with Lego to create a real Lego Batmobile. The brand kicked off the 2017 North American International Auto Show with a blast by showing off the 100% functional life-size Lego vehicle as part of its Detroit auto presentation. The debut of the unique vehicle was unveiled alongside a new commercial for the Lego Batmobile featuring Lego Mini Figures.
The advertisement is a spoof of the “Real People, Not Actors” ad campaign that Chevy has been implementing, with the tagline “Real Lego Mini Figures, Not Actors.” The commercial to commemorate the Batmobile’s unveiling is lighthearted and fun, with the audience speculating what sort of person would drive the Lego Batmobile.
The Lego Batmobile took 222 hours to design, consists of just under 345,000 Lego blocks, and weighs almost 1,700 lbs. It also has a real powertrain, with a capable engine underneath the hood. Using the tie-in with the new Lego Batman Movie isn’t just smart marketing; it’s a throwback to the old 1989 Batman movie, which featured a Batmobile constructed from two Chevy Impala chassis. The real Lego Batmobile is technically for sale – but unless you have $48 million sitting around, the price is a little steep.
During the holiday season, it can be difficult to stay on top of vehicle maintenance, but once you’ve had some downtime after New Year’s, it’s important to take your vehicle in for inspection, especially if you traveled to visit relatives during the holidays. Here’s a vehicle service checklist to help you to know where to start.
Battery and Charging System: Cooler temperatures reduce battery capacity, so your battery is more likely to die in the colder months. Check battery connections, the charging system, and the charge of the battery itself.
- Drive Belts and Hoses: Old engine belts will wear, crack, and snap over time, which could cause incredible amounts of engine damage. Hoses are important, too, for keeping your engine cool with anti-freeze.
- Tire Pressure: Like batteries, tire pressure is negatively affected by low temperatures. Colder air makes tires lose their pressure faster, so make sure your tires are properly inflated.
- Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning: The HVAC system is crucial to defrosting and staying warm in the winter.
- Brakes: Brakes should always be in good working order, especially if you expose your vehicle to slick road conditions or hazardous weather.
Keep up with this vehicle service checklist after the holidays to make sure your car is ready to face the cold temperatures that January and February bring to the table.
January means the North American International Auto Show in Detroit is almost here. As one of the largest auto shows in the world, the NAIAS in Detroit is typically reserved for brands looking to reveal one of their big, upcoming nameplates to the public to generate hype. One of these nameplates is the new Chevrolet Traverse for the 2018 model year. Chevy has been dropping hints about the vehicle, even teasing us with images, but fans will get their first full look at the overhauled Traverse at the auto show.
The Traverse has long been a popular model in Chevrolet’s lineup, which is why the best-seller has changed very little in the past ten years. However, it’s time for a new generation. Judging from teaser images, the 2018 Traverse model will be taking cues from other SUVs in the same lineup—namely, the Chevrolet Equinox and newly-redesigned GMC Acadia.
Besides that, most of what we know about the new Chevrolet Traverse is this: it will have a possible eight-passenger seating configuration, best-in-class cargo accommodation, and a rumored 3.6-liter V6 engine. None of the details will be set in stone until the curtains are drawn at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
Automakers have had something of a falling out with diesel sedans amid the recent scandal, but Chevrolet isn’t one to back down. The American automaker recognizes potential when they see it, which is why we’ve been hearing rumors of a diesel-powered Cruze coming to the market over the past few months. Well, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze diesel is now an official model following a pricing announcement.
The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan will start at $24,670 with a six-speed manual transmission. Drivers who opt for the nine-speed automatic transmission can expect to pay at least $26,270. The automaker hasn’t announced pricing for the Cruze hatchback just yet.
The first-generation Chevrolet Cruze diesel started at nearly $26,000, making the pricing of the latest model a welcome relief. All Chevrolet Cruze diesel models come with two years of SiriusXM satellite radio and OnStar with two years of 24 GB of data for the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
The base Cruze diesel comes with the LT trim and Convenience package that adds an eight-way power driver’s seat, keyless entry, heated front seats, and more. That package normally tacks on $850 to the price of a conventional Cruze.
We here at Bradshaw Chevy Buick GMC Cadillac can’t wait for the latest arrival in the Cruze lineup!
