GMC and Chevrolet are injecting a healthy dose of power and fuel economy in their new 2015 models, including the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.
Each model has taken on a new and improved standard 5.3-liter engine, returning an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway with two-wheel drive. This marks a hefty 7 percent city mileage improvement and an incredible 10 percent highway mileage increase, proving that even full-size SUVs can deliver on the fuel economy front.
For consumers who desire even more power from their big machines on wheels, the GMC Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali now feature an exclusive 6.2-liter V8 that produces a whopping 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque! You won’t find higher numbers in a full-size SUV anywhere on the market. In two-wheel drive mode, that engine offers 15 city and 21 highway miles to the gallon. Considering the power, that’s quite good!

Wes Bradshaw of Bradshaw Automotive spoke at a press conference at Eastside High School last week to launch the 2014 Just Drive Campaign, which aims to encourage teen drivers to keep from texting while driving.
The 2014 Just Drive Campaign was launched by the Greenville Drive organization, a group of local Greenville area businesspeople devoted to promoting safety on local roads. The campaign will feature a wide variety of community activities such as invitational baseball games, including a t-shirt design contest and a Celebration Game in which students who pledge not to participate in distracted driving will be invited onto the field for activities.
“We encourage students, and drivers of all ages, to please pull off the roadway in a safe location if you must send or respond to a text or place a voice call when you are behind the wheel,” said Wes at the press conference last week of the campaign’s primary goal.

In case you may have missed it, Sunday night was the Super Bowl. Yeah, we know, it was easy enough to miss since it got hardly any media coverage whatsoever. In any case, there apparently wasn’t too much to miss after all: the Seattle Seahawks rode Denver all over the field like the horse that is their mascot en route to a 43-8 victory. As is customary, the MVP of the game—Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith—told everyone he was going to Disney World and accepted the Pete Rozelle trophy. A new wrinkle for this year, however, saw the defensive dynamo taking home an all-new 2014 Chevy Silverado High Country pickup truck.
While the entire Seattle defense—otherwise known as the Legion of Boom—could have arguably taken home MVP honors, Smith’s stat line was impressive enough for him to stand out among his comrades: he registered 10 tackles, defended two passes, recovered a fumble, and picked off a Peyton Manning pass and returned it to the house for a touchdown.
The High Country trim level of the already-imposing Silverado features saddle brown leather interior and unique exterior aspects including a chrome grille, body colored front and rear bumpers, and 20” chrome wheels. The High Country represents the Bowtie Brand’s first premium-level pickup and takes the already exceptional styling of its dependable Silverado 1500 to an even higher level.
Want to feel like an MVP? Stop out to see us at Bradshaw Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac and test drive one of our vehicles today. We’ll make you feel like a winner (yes, even you, Peyton).
