The Lego Batman Movie is sure to be a great experience for all ages, but the last thing most people expected was for Chevrolet to team up with Lego to create a real Lego Batmobile. The brand kicked off the 2017 North American International Auto Show with a blast by showing off the 100% functional life-size Lego vehicle as part of its Detroit auto presentation. The debut of the unique vehicle was unveiled alongside a new commercial for the Lego Batmobile featuring Lego Mini Figures.
The advertisement is a spoof of the “Real People, Not Actors” ad campaign that Chevy has been implementing, with the tagline “Real Lego Mini Figures, Not Actors.” The commercial to commemorate the Batmobile’s unveiling is lighthearted and fun, with the audience speculating what sort of person would drive the Lego Batmobile.
The Lego Batmobile took 222 hours to design, consists of just under 345,000 Lego blocks, and weighs almost 1,700 lbs. It also has a real powertrain, with a capable engine underneath the hood. Using the tie-in with the new Lego Batman Movie isn’t just smart marketing; it’s a throwback to the old 1989 Batman movie, which featured a Batmobile constructed from two Chevy Impala chassis. The real Lego Batmobile is technically for sale – but unless you have $48 million sitting around, the price is a little steep.

Brakes: Brakes should always be in good working order, especially if you expose your vehicle to slick road conditions or hazardous weather.

January means the North American International Auto Show in Detroit is almost here. As one of the largest auto shows in the world, the NAIAS in Detroit is typically reserved for brands looking to reveal one of their big, upcoming nameplates to the public to generate hype. One of these nameplates is the new Chevrolet Traverse for the 2018 model year. Chevy has been dropping hints about the vehicle, even teasing us with images, but fans will get their first full look at the overhauled Traverse at the auto show.
The Traverse has long been a popular model in Chevrolet’s lineup, which is why the best-seller has changed very little in the past ten years. However, it’s time for a new generation. Judging from teaser images, the 2018 Traverse model will be taking cues from other SUVs in the same lineup—namely, the Chevrolet Equinox and newly-redesigned GMC Acadia.
Besides that, most of what we know about the new Chevrolet Traverse is this: it will have a possible eight-passenger seating configuration, best-in-class cargo accommodation, and a rumored 3.6-liter V6 engine. None of the details will be set in stone until the curtains are drawn at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
Automakers have had something of a falling out with diesel sedans amid the recent scandal, but Chevrolet isn’t one to back down. The American automaker recognizes potential when they see it, which is why we’ve been hearing rumors of a diesel-powered Cruze coming to the market over the past few months. Well, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze diesel is now an official model following a pricing announcement.
The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze diesel sedan will start at $24,670 with a six-speed manual transmission. Drivers who opt for the nine-speed automatic transmission can expect to pay at least $26,270. The automaker hasn’t announced pricing for the Cruze hatchback just yet.
The first-generation Chevrolet Cruze diesel started at nearly $26,000, making the pricing of the latest model a welcome relief. All Chevrolet Cruze diesel models come with two years of SiriusXM satellite radio and OnStar with two years of 24 GB of data for the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
The base Cruze diesel comes with the LT trim and Convenience package that adds an eight-way power driver’s seat, keyless entry, heated front seats, and more. That package normally tacks on $850 to the price of a conventional Cruze.
Some automakers use the annual SEMA show to put their performance-driven foot forward or reveal outrageous concepts. Chevrolet went a different way for the 2016 SEMA Show, forgoing the power-packed models and staying the course instead. Chevrolet’s Blue Line concepts showcased a set of vehicles designed for the public.
Chevrolet’s Blue Line concepts included the Cruze and Malibu and showed off parts that were readily available to the public, or will be by the middle of 2017. Even better, adding the parts to a vehicle with an existing warranty won’t void the warranty.
The first of the two cars is a Cruze Hatch RS, a sportier version of the Cruze hatchback drivers have come to love. To show off the Blue Line name, Chevrolet added a Genesis White paintjob and Slate Blue Metallic wheels. Performance upgrades included a lowered suspension, performance brakes, and an upgraded intake and exhaust system.
The second model in the Blue Line was a Malibu. Like the Cruze Hatch RS, the Malibu saw a lowered suspension, a ground effects kit, sportier pedals, and illuminated doorsills. A performance brake kit also made it to the show, but that won’t be available to the public.

Appropriately on the day of the autumnal equinox, Chevrolet unveiled the future Chevrolet Equinox. The 2018 Equinox will be an all-new design with fresh styling, advanced technology, comprehensive safety, and powerful engine options.
Starting from the outside, the new Equinox will have a lean, muscular design that follows Chevrolet’s global design cues. In addition, it features chrome trim on all trim levels to enhance its Malibu-inspired design. The Equinox will come with standard projector-beam headlights and LED daytime running lights.
Inside, Chevrolet is incorporating numerous unique enhancements, including a low windshield base for greater visibility and “kneeling” rear seats that fold down flat for easier loading. Buyers may also like the new available denim-style seat fabric for a unique look.
Keeping passengers connected will be the available 4G LTE Wi-Fi system that allows up to seven devices to connect at once. Buyers will be able to choose between a 7- and 8-inch MyLink touchscreen system.
With a range of three turbocharged engines, customers will be able to find the ideal balance of power and efficiency. The lineup will also include North America’s first turbo-diesel.
The all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox will go on sale here at Bradshaw Automotive in the first quarter of 2017.
For the fourth year in a row, Chevrolet led more categories than any other brand in the 2016 JD Power Initial Quality Study. The study, which JD Power has been conducting for three decades, surveys over 80,000 new vehicle owners and lessees to determine their satisfaction with their vehicles.
Chevrolet led five categories, sweeping the full-size truck category with a win for both the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD. It also won both the compact and large SUV segments with the Equinox and the Tahoe. The Spark, which saw a big design refresh in 2016, beat the rest of the city car segment by a whopping 48 points, while the others only led by 10 to 15 points.
This is another big win for Chevy, who also swept the JD Power Dependability Survey earlier this year. Chevy has already seen a rise in sales by 3% just since the beginning of 2016 and expects more thanks to the JD Power studies, which they expect will draw in more new customers. We sure hope this trend continues, and Chevy continues to produce award-winning cars!

“Time is such a precious commodity and having an extra day this year presents an amazing opportunity for all of us to do something impactful,” said Paul Edwards, Chevrolet Vice President of Marketing. Edwards further states, “The Chevy team is going to take those extra hours and put them towards doing unexpected acts of kindness for people—something that we hope others will embrace and repeat.”

The Ward’s Auto “10 Best Engines” list tends to celebrate traditional engines each year, listing the most innovative, powerful engines that have been created for the past year’s line-up. However, this year there seems to be a different trend.
This year, Ward’s stretched the definition of engine by adding three hybrid models to their list, honoring the powertrains within: the 2016 Chevrolet Volt, the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, and the 2016 Toyota Prius.
Of these three, the 2016 Chevy Volt is by far the most impressive, with the ability to run on electricity alone when charged. In fact, the current Chevy Volt can travel up to 53 miles on pure electricity. That completely unheard of in the electric market!
It’s worth noting that by including these three models on their list, Ward’s is truly recognizing the power of hybrid powertrains. They may not be traditional engines, but they can still be remarkably powerful. This may also show that perhaps hybrid engines are becoming increasingly popular.

Chevrolet brought their series of Red Line concept cars to SEMA, but released images and details on the vehicles beforehand to build up excitement and anticipation for the lineup. The diverse concepts include the Trax, Malibu, Camaro, Colorado, and Silverado 1500, in addition to the upcoming Chevrolet Spark RS concept. The Chevrolet Red Line concepts debuted November 3rd at SEMA.
The Red Line series was designed to show off the customization and personalization capabilities of Chevrolet’s 2016 lineup, and the Red Line upgrades will be available for vehicles in that lineup. The Red Line series upgrades include a new Enhanced Silver Metallic color palette option, Charcoal roof panel, and accents in red and Satin Graphite. Most of the changes will be purely cosmetic, so while the price has not yet been announced, they are expected to be rather affordable.
The 2015 SEMA Motor Show takes place in Las Vegas from November 3rd through 6th, drawing a crowd of over 60,000. Chevy is using SEMA to gauge interest in the Chevrolet Red Line concepts, but are confident that Chevrolet Accessories will become a quality alternative to aftermarket parts when it comes to personalizing their vehicles.
